Venturi Purification (VP) Scrubbers

Principle of Operation
APC Technologies, Inc.’s Venturi Purification (VP) scrubbers utilize inertial impaction for high-efficiency removal of dust, particulate, aerosol and fine mists. A venturi-shaped throat accelerates the gas stream to high velocity, and contaminant particles collide with and
are trapped by atomized scrubbing liquid. The contaminated liquid particles are removed by a cyclonic separator, leaving a clean air exhaust.
VP scrubbers can be used as a stand-alone system or in series with APC’s Gas Purification (GP) packed-tower scrubbers to control both particulate and gas-phase contaminants.
Broad Range of Applications
APC’s VP scrubbers control a variety of fine particulate matter, aerosol, acid mists, and fumes. Applications for VP systems include acid plants, adhesives & sealants, asphalt plants, biomass furnaces, blast furnaces, chemical plants, food processing, foundries, incinerators (all types), lime kilns, metals fabrication, municipal waste combustors, plastics and polymers, pulp and paper manufacture, rendering, resins, roofing materials, rubber parts, sludge incineration, wastewater treatment plants, wood-fired boilers, and wood products manufacture.
Horizontal units and roof mounting are available for applications where ceiling height is a constraint. Temperature- and corrosion-resistant construction is available depending on the specific requirements of the application.
